The project is a residential complex located in the Moncloa district, on the outskirts of Madrid. The area is a green oasis, a protected natural area near the El Pardo mountain and the Manzanares river. The project originated from the location, the topography, the green landscape, the water, the tranquility. The atmospheres created respond to this landscape and also accommodate the diversity of ways of living.

We arranged the nine homes along the landscape of large private garden areas and communal areas that included a spa, hammam, water channels, and a gym.

The garden: geometry and volumes

The materials used and the layout of the houses aimed to reduce the visual impact of the built environment so that from any corner, the project is understood within nature. Therefore, in addition to vegetation, water accompanies the spaces and pathways into the homes and communal areas.

In the underground, the communal gym and sauna recreated the cozy atmosphere of Roman baths and the importance of physical well-being. Light seeps through thin slits in the walls, and water helps improve thermal comfort through evaporation and the entry and circulation of fresh air into the interior spaces. All volumes are built with natural wooden slabs, whose warm texture and unique patterns give the spaces a cozy feeling and a connection with nature.

Zona de aguas

The natural beauty of wood combines with its ability to provide excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, contributing to a comfortable and sustainable indoor environment. On the other hand, rammed earth walls, built with compacted soil, exhibit a craftsmanship aesthetic that harmoniously integrates with the landscape. Both construction techniques highlight the natural beauty of the materials and create buildings that are not only visually pleasing but also ecological and environmentally friendly.
